Strengthening Long-Term Support: 2025 Reflections
As the 2025 year comes to an end and a new year approaches, Tania Scroggie offers her reflections as the OEM Relationship Director at GDCA over her experiences over the past year in her latest YouTube upload! Over the four episodes of “Tania’s Teachables” released in 2025, Tania explored the many conversations she’s had with OEM partners and GDCA clients alike, as well as the many experiences she had from traveling to conferences around the world. Across each video, however, was an underlying theme: the importance of clarity in internal and external communication, and of long-term support when it comes to sustaining critical systems.
Looking back at 2025 with Director Tania Scroggie
As mentioned above, “Tania’s Teachables” featured four new episodes in 2025, each with a different focus on the challenges that OEMs face every day when it comes to obsolescence:
- Episode 10, “The Recurring Nightmare”, explored the recurring nature of electronics obsolescence, and why proactive planning for sustainment is then so important.
- Episode 11, “OEMs, Long-Term Support & GDCA FAQs”, addressed the most common questions that Tania and the GDCA team received from their OEM partners and clients.
- Episode 12, “The Inchworm Dilemma”, showed how easily trying to internally support legacy products bottlenecks innovation.
- Episode 13, “Protect Your Core by Transferring the Tail” built on the problems presented in the previous episode and explored better options for protecting OEM programs while freeing up time for innovation.
Tania also traveled around the world to various conferences, such as Embedded World in Germany, AUSA in Washington D.C., and Embedded World North America, all of which reinforced the need for clarity and long-term sustainment solutions. Overall, 2025 showed not only the industry’s need for lifecycle assurance, but also the importance of predictability, alignment, and sustained support to OEMs.
Looking Ahead to What is Next in 2026
Legacy support is more than just supporting OEMs in a crisis–it’s about providing assurance and reliable sustainment before that crisis can occur. As we move into the new year, the team at GDCA looks forward to continuing to strengthen our existing partnerships, form new partnerships, expand our support to new programs, and help OEMs reduce their risk and keep on pushing the limits of technology.
From Tania Scroggie and the entire GDCA team–thank you to all of our partners, customers, viewers, readers, and team members for an incredible year! We are excited to see what 2026 brings to the table!
