Careers in Embedded System Sustainment
Join the Team at GDCA
We’re not your typical electronics manufacturer. At GDCA, we don’t chase the latest designs—we sustain the older systems that still matter.
Working in legacy sustainment takes creativity, persistence, and deep respect for the systems we support. Whether you’re an engineer who loves solving complex problems, a subcontractor with a seasoned perspective, or part of a small firm looking for meaningful work—you might be exactly who we need.
Full-Time Engineering Roles
We’re always looking for engineers who love a challenge.
This isn’t design-for-manufacture—it’s design-for-continuity. You’ll apply creative problem-solving to bring 20+ year-old technology back to life, working with incomplete data, fragile documentation, and long-retired parts.
Ideal candidates have:
- Experience with VME, CPCI, or other legacy bus structures
- A knack for troubleshooting and figuring things out with partial data
- A desire to work hands-on and own the full engineering lifecycle
If you’re tired of high-churn, low-context design work and want to make an outsized impact with a tight-knit team, this might be your next home.
Subcontract Engineering Partners
Some of the best engineers we’ve worked with aren’t looking for full-time jobs. They have their own compliant and certified labs, choose their own hours, and bring decades of experience to the table.
If that’s you—we’d love to talk.
Whether you’re semi-retired or just prefer to work independently, we often need help with:
- Schematic capture and netlist generation
- Technical debugging and design reconstruction
- Functional test development and creative validation approaches
We’re not just looking for availability—we’re looking for the kind of deep intuition that comes from having done this work for a long time.
Small Engineering Firms
We love working with small, focused engineering teams.
You move fast, communicate clearly, and care about getting things right—not just getting things done.
Our best partnerships come from firms that:
- Have legacy board or embedded system experience
- Can handle project-based engagements
- Align with our values of trust, accountability, and precision
If your team has sustainment chops and you’re looking for meaningful technical partnerships, reach out.
