GDCA Inc. and Abaco Systems Strike Deal to Avoid Embedded EOL for Customers

LIVERMORE, Calif. — Feb. 6, 2019 GDCA Inc., a California-based company that specializes in manufacturing obsolete embedded computer equipment, announced this week that it has joined forces with Abaco Systems, a leader in the electronics systems industry.

Together, the companies have completed an initial transfer of 13 product lines from Abaco to GDCA. This means customers of the transferred product families now have a path to product availability for as long as needed. As a result, customers who have particularly long life cycles or who need greater budget stability can now take advantage of GDCA’s lifecycle assurance services.

“We are excited about working with Abaco to provide a sustainment path for customers with very long equipment life cycles,” said Ethan Plotkin, CEO of GDCA Inc. “These customers absolutely need a reliable source of supply for very old embedded board designs. We’re still supporting products that were designed in the ’80s, and I consider making sure that OEMs have happy customers to be a core competency.”

Following the transfer in November 2018, Abaco notified all affected customers, directing them to GDCA for any new purchase or services requests.
