What is (SPS) Special Product Services?
The SPS Program was designed to give
customers access to legacy embedded products currently not
licensed or manufactured by GD California. SPS works with a wide
range of bus architectures including VME, STD & STD32 and CompactPCI
(cPCI). SPS has access to legacy embedded products from Motorola,
ProLog, Force Computers, Curtiss Wright, Performance Technologies,
Ziatech, and Dy4 to name a few.
How SPS Finds Legacy
Products
SPS accesses legacy embedded products
through excess inventory and through industry sources, which include
non-franchised distributors and OEM's. Excess inventory is acquired
directly from computer board manufacturers as they reduce overstock,
obsolete inventories or End-of-Life (EOL) products or entire product
series.
Over the past two decades, we have
developed close partnerships with suppliers and distributors in the
embedded industry. The SPS program utilizes these relationships on
behalf of customers to locate and acquire new, like new or
refurbished obsolete embedded computer products. In most cases, SPS
can also offer repair services.
