Performance Technologies is a leading developer of embedded components, platforms and enabling software for the communications, military and commercial markets. The company has established a promising partnership with GD California to provide life-cycle support for legacy products.

"GD California has been manufacturing and supporting Performance Technologies’ EOL STD/STD 32 products for several years," said Karla Guandia, STD 32 product manager for Performance Technologies. "This most recent transfer is beneficial for customers as it allows them to continue to receive a high level of support from a vendor who is intimately familiar with our technology."

In 2003, GD California assumed manufacturing responsibility for more than 60 STD products from Performance Technologies. This latest exchange brings the number of transferred products to more than one hundred.

"GD California welcomes the transfer of Performance Technologies’ products. The CompactPCI bus is widely used in industrial and telecommunication applications and is known for its simple architecture and robustness," said Kaylin Gundry, Sales Manager of GD California, Inc. "Our core business is to service EOL products. We established a relationship with Performance Technologies in 2002, and it has served both companies very well."

Since 1987, GD California has been building alliances with manufacturers and customers to assume responsibility for discontinuing legacy products. GD California currently maintains nearly 3,000 different computer board products including VME, STD, STD 32 CompactPCI, S-100, SBUS, MBI and MBII.
