On
a recent trip, I was reminded how brands and brand names can
really resonate with customers.
Whether it’s a soft drink, technology, automobile or even
fast food, customers flock to trusted
brands they know and acknowledge as a quality product. On
the plane ride back, I realized that GDCA didn’t really
have a recognized brand or symbol. After multiple sketches
of various labels and emblems, the Legacy Protected logo
emerged.
The
"Legacy Protected" trademark was developed by GD
California, Inc in November of 2005. It is a symbol of our
commitment to managing legacy product
life cycles for customers that need extended support. When
you see GD California’s Legacy Protected logo, you can be
assured that the product was produced with the highest
quality standards, built to the original manufacturers
specifications and is a product that is protected
against obsolescence by the leader in the industry.
Since
1987, GD California has licensed the ability to manufacture
and support more than 3,000 products from embedded computer
companies. When these products were transferred to us, they
usually contained considerable component obsolescence. We
promised the end customers that we would not obsolete any
products transferred to GD California and so far, we have
always come through for them. We had to become very good at
acquiring and storing hard-to-find components. GD California
goes through extraordinary lengths to guarantee the
long-term availability of its legacy embedded products.
Look
for the Legacy Protected symbol to ensure that you have
product backed by GD California. Do
you have more questions or comments? Send us an email.
We would like to hear from you.
From
all of us at GD California, we want to wish you and your
family the happiest of holiday seasons and the best for
2006!
